Developing a great career

Building your skills and experience

UPP is committed to nurturing and developing our people.

It is essential for everyone to feel valued, fulfilled and to be part of a working environment that allows for personal growth within an agile and efficient workplace.

We are committed to creating and supporting great careers for our people. As an Investors in People Gold Accredited business, we offer a broad range of training and development opportunities to learning on the job and achieve formal qualifications, all designed around you.

Whatever your role at UPP, we’re ready to help support you.

Learning and development

We want to ensure every employee has the necessary skills, resources and support to undertake their job effectively so that as a business, we can create a high performing culture.

Training

At UPP, we are committed to developing the skills and capabilities of our people and believe in empowering them to explore the different training and development opportunities that support both personal and business growth.

Our training activities include structured programmes designed to build and enhance leadership capabilities, ensuring our people have the right skills and opportunities to develop their long term career with us.

Internal opportunities

We encourage and support opportunities to develop our people through internal career mobility e.g. secondments, projects and acting up responsibilities.

We actively advertise and share our vacancies internally so you can see what’s currently available, and so you can recommend friends and colleagues who are interested in working for UPP.

Personal Development Reviews

Our performance management framework aims to monitor, maintain and improve employee performance in line with our business objectives.

Feedback is ongoing but formalised twice per year – with a mid-year and full year performance development review – these are two-way, open, supportive discussions with feedback on performance, KPIs, achievements and progress and focus on recognising and promoting the right behaviours and values and good performance.
