Helping students live and learn

Shaped by students, for students

Moving to university is an exciting time for students – but it often comes with uncertainties and unexpected challenges. This is where our support is invaluable for fostering positive experiences and allowing students to flourish in all aspects of university life.

At UPP, we work closely with our university partners, with student unions, and with students themselves to create scalable, flexible experience programmes that are complementary to the university offering and which help our students thrive.

Why UPP

UPP offer an inclusive, student-led approach that is designed with the university journey of students at its core, to create an amazing and rewarding experience. The student voice is at the heart of all the decisions UPP make, ensuring we are tailoring projects to suit the unique needs of current students.

Creating connections

It is crucial to provide safe spaces to help students make friends, settle into halls, and feel part of a rich and diverse community, which we do our best to encourage and facilitate through UPP’s ResLife programmes and Home at Halls App. Providing tools and resources for students to develop meaningful friendships and connections to those around them is essential to preventing feelings of isolation and loneliness and setting students up for a successful university journey.

We prioritise wellbeing

Ensuring the wellbeing of our students is paramount to UPP as we know how important mental health issues can be. This is why all of our site teams include Mental Health First Aiders, who work very closely with our university partners to promote student wellbeing, and make sure that any causes for concern are flagged and addressed immediately.

Looking to the future

We help students prepare for their futures, supporting with volunteering opportunities, fundraising, and work experience which can allow them to gain key skills and enhance their employability. It is just as important to be there for students in the moment as it is to look for ways to support them in the future even after their university experience has finished.

Services offered

ResLife Programmes

From exciting and diverse social calendars through to large scale celebrity keynote events, UPP can deliver scalable, bespoke ResLife packages designed to enhance the value of the residential experience, complementing the offering of our partners. These programmes are bespoke to each university in order to best suit the student body and can be designed based on key values and principles that are important both to each partner.

Home at Halls App

UPP’s bespoke App is designed to support students with managing day to day life in Halls from completing their room inventory when they move in, alerting them when a washing machine has become available, notifying them of any maintenance required, and advertising upcoming events. It also holds key information including emergency contact numbers and details on hall health and safety.

Student Representatives

UPP can employ and manage Student Representatives on your behalf to help run a social calendar in halls. This might include weekly events that the Representatives run, and because the organisers are students themselves, they know what students are most interested in and how they prefer to spend their time whilst not studying

Focus Groups

We run and analyse feedback from Focus Groups and provide insight to universities on student sentiment and perspectives.
