It is with enormous sadness that we share the news that our previous Chief Executive and Vice Chairman, Sean O’Shea, has passed away.
Sean was a founding Director of UPP in 1998 and the principal architect of the unique partnership business model to which we remain true today. UPP grew from a team of five people to over 1,000 and the business raised more than £3bn of investment for the benefit of our partners and students.
Those of you who met or worked with Sean will know that he regarded UPP as his extended family and cared deeply for the business, its people and the sector. His wicked sense of humour, wit and insight will be sorely missed, as will the sound of his laughter echoing across the office.
Chief Executive Officer Elaine Hewitt said: “This has come as a huge shock to all of us in UPP who have worked closely with Sean over the years. Sean’s knowledge, expertise, and perspective were invaluable and he will remain an intrinsic part of UPP’s DNA.”
