UPP’s on-site teams actively encourage constructive comments and criticism from residents. At Oxford Brookes’ Cheney Student Village, feedback from students has been used to ensure delivery of the best possible service, consistently securing 100% occupancy of all 750 rooms on the site.
In 2008, UPP signed a deal with Oxford Brookes University to extend its lease on 750 rooms until December 2050, and to extend the maintenance/lifecycle fund and facilities management contract.
In 2002, UPP established a partnership with Oxford Brookes University to develop and operate Cheney Student Village. This project involved the phased redevelopment of a 400-room site into one which now provides 750 single en-suite study bedrooms arranged into flats of five or six with shared living and kitchen space. Cheney Student Village is situated in landscaped grounds and benefits from two onsite launderettes and covered bike storage. The Oxford Brookes sports centre, with a floodlit all-weather football pitch is nearby. The hall office is available as a source of advice and information for students during daytime hours and a Residence Warden and Security Officer are on duty at night.
