A closer partnership between UPP and NTU was announced in 2008, with a £111million refinancing deal bringing the two UPP-managed schemes at the university together under one special purpose company with a ten-year lease extension. The package provided NTU with a valuable injection of cash to improve provision of core services.
UPP’s partnership with Nottingham Trent University dates from 2001 when the vast majority of the university’s accommodation was transferred to UPP, together with the subsequent operation of more than 2,300 existing rooms across seven sites, with UPP providing hard and soft facilities management services.
Following the success of the estate transfer arrangement, a second partnership was formed involving the development of 446 high quality en suite bedrooms within a short walking distance from the city campus. The hall also includes 24 studio rooms, each boasting a small kitchenette unit, along with impressive views of the city.
