Residential Services
To ensure smooth operation of our student accommodation schemes from day one, UPP Residential Services Limited (URSL) delivers a full range of services bespoke to each respective partnership. These include hard and soft facilities management services, marketing and revenue management all of which URSL refines to meet its client needs.
Local teams are employed to manage and provide services for each of our partner universities. This team represents the day-to-day face of the partnership and ensures every aspect, from cleaning rooms to security, is consistently delivered in line with our values and standards.
All key staff in partnership teams are certified by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). UPP is also accredited with both BIFM and ANUK, which means that all our staff work to the National Code of Standards for Larger Developments for Student Accommodation.
Building on the success of URSL, during 2009 we aim to further diversify our services by offering our university partners a complete asset management service. Where required, this will include academic and support facilities as well as student housing and will be tailored to meet the needs of partners’ individual estates. Running a university as a business is vital to the future success of the UK’s academic institutions. Historically, universities have not outsourced their FM operations but this is expected to change as they realise that aligning operations to private sector models will reap many benefits. Via its new service offering, UPP aims to demonstrate to the higher education sector that integrating all facilities and estates management under one roof is more economical, more efficient and more commercially sound, while at the same time developing its own business beyond student accommodation.

About UPP Asset Management

The deal has made a huge difference to the university’s ability to get on with other projects. To have all the maintenance work for the UPP residences taken out of our hands is an added bonus.
