With positive inspection reports from such bodies as ANUK and the fire service and with good relations with local environmental health officers, UPP has developed a class-leading safety management process that is best practice in every sense. Annual health and safety audits are carried out at all our sites – with each of them exceeding UPPs 85% target in 2008. In 2009 we are raising the bar. We will be delivering an active staff training programme and working to ensure all our teams achieve a 90% audit score. All our senior managers have achieved IOSH safety certification and all site operatives undertake a tailored, job-specific Task Review Training Programme. Regular team workshops are used to update procedures to ensure compliance with the latest legislation. External providers are encouraged to attend these workshops to ensure our partners follow our requirements.
