Health and Safety
UPP has worked continuously to ensure its approach to health and safety is “best in class”. With positive inspection reports from such bodies as Accreditation Network UK (ANUK), the fire service and local environmental health officers, UPP has developed sector-leading safety management processes.
All senior managers and key staff within our partnership teams have achieved Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certification and UPP has developed a tailored, job-specific Task Review Training Programme for all on-site staff. UPP is also accredited by both BIFM and ANUK, with all UPP staff working to the National Code of Standards for Larger Developments for Student Accommodation.
This is underpinned by regular team workshops which are used to update our procedures in light of the latest legislation. External providers are encouraged to attend these workshops to ensure they also work to the same requirements.
Using the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) competency appraisal system, our contractors and service providers are fully supported in maintaining their own safety systems.

The role of health and safety is not just to tick boxes but to provide an environment for the whole business that ensures best practice at every level.
