University of York
In 2001, UPP established a partnership with the University of York to
develop student rooms at Halifax College and redevelop rooms at Wentworth
College. Halifax College, part of the University’s Halifax campus, was
completed in October 2001. Onsite facilities include a shop, 24-hour access
IT centre, launderette and bar. Wentworth College forms part of York’s
main university campus and sits at the west end of the lake, at the heart
of the campus. The scheme included the refurbishment of the Wentworth
College building to create a graduate college environment.
In September 2007 UPP acquired a further 300 rooms from the university following the estate transaction of Alcuin halls of residences.
