Lancaster University
The partnership between Lancaster University and UPP dates back to 2003, when UPP undertook the estate transfer and redevelopment of Lancaster University's residential estate, offering an increase in diversity of study bedrooms for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In 2003, UPP took on a phased redevelopment of Lancaster University's entire residential estate, including the management of Hard FM. In the latest phase of the development, Lancaster have adopted UPP's sustainable Eco Hall model, which uses timber from sustainable managed sources during construction. Carbon footprint of the build is reduced by 30% when compared to traditional sites.
UPP's work with Lancaster University forms the largest accommodation project in the sector, offering 3385 rooms over three phases, with an investment of £190m. The new Eco-Hall model will see a further 963 rooms offered, which are due to open in January 2008.
